This was an AWESOME book showing tolerance towards others. It doesn’t matter if they are huge or thin, look different, many people can be a potential friend if you only give them a chance. I think that this would be a great story for children in grades two and under. It could also be used with the school curriculum whether for Grandfather Teachings or character Education. Every single page was a large, bright and colourful picture with the words up in the sky. I would wholeheartedly recommend this one!

Reading books to my children and grand children is something I enjoy. As my children grow they read more to me which is a blessing in itself. I enjoy hearing how far they have come in their reading achievement.

I like Suzy Liebermann's style of writing to help children learn about how to deal with things that come up during life.

As parent we try to teach our children how to survive and succeed in society but we can't always teach them everything. This is where books and stories come into play. They can help up teach our children things that might not happen when they are little. I received this product as part of a promotion in order to facilitate an honest and unbiased review.

Good Friends (Hugo the Happy Starfish - Island Adventures - Educational Children's Book Collection 10) is a great read for young children because it teaches about friendship and tolerance. My 2 daughters, who are 4 and 6, easily understood the morale of the book. I like that this book taught about not judging anybody by the way they look, and thus, reminded me of the saying, "don't judge a book by its covers". The illustrations are cute and nice and clearly depicted how each one is unique in their own way. I also like how Hugo learned in the end that its the personality and goodness inside that counts and not the outside appearance.

I liked the morale and the illustrations that were brilliantly and colorfully done! Avery good job! So, I think this ebook should be recommended not just for
children but also for those who are older who may be judging others before they have even met. Or get to know personally and are looking only at their
looks, or their cultures, diets, etc. So, this is all why I am giving this ebook five stars. I received this ebook for free and in exchange I have now given it an honest review. !Super job Suzy! By Angela L.

This book teaches children about tolerance and we shouldn't t judge others by their looks. By judging others we could miss out on someone really special. The moral of the story and the illustrations perfectly coincide with one another to deliver a wonderful message that is easy for young children to understand.

A story that shares how friends come in all different size, shape or any unique feature and can be a friend no matter what. I loved this book, not only did it show how Hugo was first showing his true opinion of these new friends he makes, but he finds it in his heart to understand that it doesn't matter what they look like on the outside, but how they are on the in. They are all wonderful colorful starfish, just like Hugo. However, they all had different appearances and it didn't register to Hugo that a friend can look different then he thought they should be, but when Hugo goes to talk with the starfish, he learns how special they are in different ways. Some could do interesting things that made them unique, which Hugo could never do.

Finale, I'd like to say that this book is great for every child. You won't only have your child learning to love everyone, but to love what makes each friend of theirs different.

Teaching children life skills can be challenging, but in this exciting adventure with Hugo, your kids will come across some of the most important lessons there are to be learned. Like Hugo, their journey to the real world will be full of character lessons along the way.

The Island of Confidence is beautifully illustrated and leads kids on a suspenseful adventure, learning that they are much like everyone else in learning new skills and there's nothing like a little confidence to help then say "Yes, I can!"

I have had the pleasure of reading the Hugo the Happy Starfish series by author Suzy Liebermann to my children. If you are searching for a series that teaches your children life lessons such as the importance of appreciation, patience, tolerance and optimism than look no further than Hugo the Happy Starfish -- Island Adventures.

This latest volume -- Yes, I can (The Island of Confidence) was one that I truly was eager to read. My five year old son has had some serious confidence issues lately. It is more than true that happiness begins with confidence!

My son is a perfectionist and always feels like he has to do everything right the first and only time. This was a great read for him because on the Island of Confidence, Hugo learns that a major part of learning is making mistakes! When Hugo believes in himself, he is able to do HIS best when he loses his fears of trying new things!

Hugo the Starfish takes place in a colorful and magical underwater world, where Hugo visits 14 different items learning life lessons and virtues as he travels. Hugo is a series that is perfect for preschoolers, school-aged children and self-readers.

If your child always felt that they couldn't complete something that everyone else could. Maybe something they wish they could do. However, have always felt scared to try anymore since they didn't do well the first few times. Then I have a great book for you. Yes, I Can! is another wonderful book by Suzy Liebermann. Not only does it show how a friend was there to help cheer Hugo on but it proves that with a little more practice, you can do just about anything.

I know how hard it is sometimes. I've actually never was good in doing a lot of things. I really couldn't do some simple things that many kids could. Instead I'd just wish I could and put it behind me and move on thinking about other things. Unfortunately, after a few years I've decided to put goals in front of myself and accomplish these simple things that everyone else around me can do. Just like Hugo I practiced and finally was able to accomplish these goals with ease.

Unfortunately, its not easy and as you'll notice in this book, Hugo couldn't do it at first either, but with tons of practice he was able to succeed. I actually think everyone can do anything if they had encouragement and practice. So if you think your child may relate with having problems accomplishing certain tasks that seem to be bothersome. Then just get them this book and they will see, there is nothing to big or small that will be hard to accomplish.
