We recently received a copy of The Last Bully, and I think it is a great book. It really has opened up my kids' eyes to the effects bullying has on one's feelings. It also had nice, bright illustrations. I recommend this everyone who has little ones!

Are you worried about your children being bullied? Is it hard for you to talk to them about it because they may be too young and not really understand what you are talking about?? We all want to protect our children from bully's but we can not always be there to protect them!!Suzy Liebermann has nailed it right on the head with her book, "Hugo The Happy Starfish The Last Bully!!" This is a Great way to teach your child about bullies and what to do to prevent being bullied!
My daughter is Autistic and doesn't really understand when people are being mean to her or she is being bullied. We read The Last Bully three times to get her to really understand what a bully was and how to prevent being a victim of a bully or becoming that bully no one is going to like.
The Last Bully explains it so a child of any reading level can understand what a bully is and how to protect yourself and your friends from the Bully's!!
It is a sad world when we have to teach any child about bully's but it is wonderful that an Author like Suzy can write a book that teaches every child about the big bad bully! I know now after reading this book my daughter understands what a bully is and she will let an adult know if she feels she is being bullied!!!
Thank you Suzy for an A+ book, you really rocked it with The Last Bully!!!

Another great message for the children!, July 14, 2013
This review is from: THE LAST BULLY (HUGO THE HAPPY STARFISH - An Inspiring Sea Adventure for Young Children) (Kindle Edition)
Just like with the the other Hugo the Happy Starfish, this one has a strong moral message. The message is an anti-bullying message.Hugo was traveling through the ocean when he came upon Clooney and Bandit. Bandit was saying some horrible, false things to Clooney and was bullying Clooney. Hugo told Clooney to ignore Bandit. The next day, Hugo was once again traveling the ocean and happened upon Bandit being bullied by a larger ocean creature than Bandit was. The bully was saying similar things to Bandit that Bandit had said to Clooney the day before. Instead of Hugo ignoring this, Hugo decided to be proactive and stand up for Bandit the way he did for Clooney the day before. Bandit quickly realizes that he doesn't like the way the bully made him feel and thought that Clooney probably didn't like the way he had made him feel. They made up and decided to make the ABC Club. The ABC Club is the Anti-Bullying Club to stand up and stop bullying ocean-wide.
Just like with the other Hugo the Happy Starfish books, it is brightly illustrated and uses simple to understand words so that a very young child can enjoy the book as well as an older child. My oldest daughter, 11, loved reading this book to her siblings. It caught all of their attentions from beginning to end.
FTC Disclosure: I received this book through Tomoson for the purpose of a review. All opinions featured in this review are that of my own and are not persuaded in any way.

Great Book!, July 14, 2013
This review is from: THE LAST BULLY (HUGO THE HAPPY STARFISH - An Inspiring Sea Adventure for Young Children) (Kindle Edition)
This is a very cute book with a great message. Don't bully! There is always a bigger fish in the ocean. In the book there is a place at the end to write who's book it belongs too and a place you can draw how you can help out the A.B.C. The A.B.C is the anti bully club that all the fish in the ocean join! Also throughout the book there is little Spanish phrases, then its in English I absolutely love books that show both languages since we are Spanish and we are teaching Kyliee both as she grows.

My 8 year old daughter read the book and immediately wanted to start an anti-bully club at her school, which I think is absolutely fabulous and I encourage it 100%. This book is an inspiration and motivation for young children out there.

Great Character Education, July 5, 2013
This review is from: THE LAST BULLY (HUGO THE HAPPY STARFISH - An Inspiring Sea Adventure for Young Children) (Kindle Edition)
I love that there is a book geared towards young children about bullying. As much as I hate to admit this, my three year old daughter can be a bit of a bully so I was really happy to read Hugo the Happy Starfish: The Last Bully to her. I want to tackle this problem before bullying at home becomes bullying in schools. This book couldn't have been more well designed for her. She loves movies and books about the ocean so it immediately had her attention. When the book started out with name calling, I knew this would hit close to home! My kids constantly call names when fighting and say things that aren't true just to hurt each others feelings. It's something we are really focusing on working on right now.
Hugo the starfish has a friend named Clooney and and a bully named Bandit says things about Clooney that simply aren't true. The tables quickly turn though when the Barracuda is bullied by someone bigger then him the very next day and Hugo immediately comes to his defense, regardless of the way he treated his friend.
Together Hugo and friends form the ABC, or Anti Bully Club. The club comes to the rescue of those being bullied and teach an attitude of respect. They quickly discover that everyone needs this club at one point or another.
I loved reading this to my kids and talking about it with them. It helped them see the bigger picture in a way that they can understand. There's always someone bigger and someone meaner. Nobody is perfect and no one should be picked on for any reason. Suzy Liebermann wonderfully demonstrates the power that words can have.
Huge the Happy Starfish: The Last Bully is great character education for kids of all ages and will speak to them on a level they can comprehend.
